History of Nexus Courier LLC

How We Got Started: The story of our beginnings.

More than 38 years ago Ken and Ruth Long decided to bet on themselves.  They put their work ethics, attention to detail and their values to the test by founding and operating their business.  From day one, along with great support from their two daughters and two grandsons, and a team of associates made customer service, knowledge and outstanding quality, the hallmark of the business.

Nexus Courier was formalized by Ken and Ruth as a customer focused business in 2017, but due to the unexpected death of Ruth, the opening date was delayed until 2020.  Ken is at the helm of the company with great experience and knowledge of the industry, once again with great support from his two daughters, and his two grandsons.  

Nexus Courier is widely recognized for their commitment to serving their customers while staying friendly to the environment.  We provide excellence and dedication to our customers, through providing professional and high-quality courier services across Indiana and its’ connecting states.  24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

Who Are We?

Ken and Ruth put their values to the test by founding their new adventure – Runners Forum Inc.  A specialty retail for runners and walkers.  To promote and develop a custom marketing strategy, they began to offer training programs, management of existing runs and walks, producing and organizing their own special events for runners and walkers.

From day one, with great support and help from their two daughters, two grandsons, and a great staff of associates, they proved the decision to bet on themselves was the correct move.

2011

Ruth and Ken decided to retire, sold their equipment and events – living the good life!

2016

Ruth advised Ken to get a job (as she said, “You are floating around the house, like a turd in a toilet bowl!”)

2016

Ken joined Now Courier as an independent contractor, and suddenly became very passionate and serious about the courier business.

2017

Ken and Ruth decided to bet on themselves once again by using their same unique and customer focused business model.   (As the old saying goes, once an entrepreneur always an entrepreneur.)    Due to the unexpected death of Ruth, once again with great support from his children and grandchildren, Ken has used his experiences, passion, and professionalism to form the Best · Team · Ever.

Our Culture

In the business world, one is taught that an organization must follow a mission, believe in a vision, and hold core values.  This sounds all well and good, but in the real world, mission, vision, and values too often remain mere words and fail to come alive.  What is it that can translate an organization’s noble aspirations into reality?  We believe it is the organization’s culture.  

Yes, we provide our own mission, vision, and value statements.  But they would be meaningless without the culture that has developed inside Nexus Courier LLC since its inception.  Our founder, Ken Long, has made clear his commitment to:
